Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Release Date and Banners were announced in the recent Livestream of HoYoverse. The title of the Honkai Star Rail 2.1 patch is Into the Yawning Chasm. In this article, we will summarize everything that was revealed during the stream.
Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Release Date
Honkai Star Rail version 2.1 will be officially released on March 27th, 2024. You can preload the patch before it goes live. You will be notified by the Honkai Star Rail Launcher when the download becomes available.
As always, the Honkai Star Rail 2.1 patch will come with new content and features. We will get new time-limited events, three new characters, and a continuation of Penacony's story.
Honkai Star Rail 2.1 New Characters
Three new playable characters are making their debut In Honkai Star Rail 2.1. They are, Acheron, Aventurine, and Gallagher, alongside the return of 5-star characters Luocha and Jingliu.

Words of Yore & Laic Pursuit ( March 27th - April 17th )
Phase 1 of the 2.1 Banner schedule starts with Honkai Star Rail Acheron and Luocha, featuring 4-Star Gallagher on their Banners. Acheron is a new 5-star Lightning character who follows The Path of Nihility on her Words of Yore Banner. Loucha is a returning 5-star Imaginary character who follows The Path of Abundance on his Laic Pursuit Banner. Gallagher is a new 4-Star Fire character who follows the Path of Abundance, and he is boosted on both the Banners.

Acheron ★★★★★ Path – Nihility Element – Lightning Acheron is a 5-star Lightning character who follows the Path of Nihility. She presents herself as a wandering Galaxy Ranger, concealing her true identity. She wields a lengthy sword while traveling through the cosmos alone. Despite her distant and reserved nature, her blade moves with the swiftness of lightning. Interestingly, she chooses to strike with her scabbard instead of drawing her sword, adding a layer of enigma to her combat style. |

Luocha ★★★★★ Path – Abundance Element – Imaginary Luocha is a 5-star Imaginary character who follows the Path of Abundance. He is a strikingly handsome young man with blond hair, notable for carrying a coffin on his back. Once a member of the intergalactic merchant guild, he found himself caught in the Stellaron crisis of Xianzhou Luofu. His exceptional medical expertise is bound to prove invaluable in unforeseen ways. |

Gallagher ★★★★ Path – Abundance Element – Fire Gallagher is a 4-star character aligned with the Fire element, and he follows the Path of Abundance. He serves as a security officer for the Bloodhound Family in Penacony. He also works part-time as a lazy and messy bartender. Even though he looks untidy and doesn't take mixing drinks too seriously, Gallagher stays polite to customers and keeps a watchful eye. There's something mysterious about him, suggesting he has a hidden past he doesn't talk about. |

Gilded Imprisonment & Gentle Eclipse of the Moon ( April 17th - May 7th )
In Phase 2 of version 2.1, we have Aventurine who is a 5-star Imaginary character who follows the Path of Preservation with his Gilded Imprisonment Banner. And 5-star Ice character of the Destruction path Jingliu on her Gentle Eclipse of the Moon Banner.
The characters highlighted in this phase are,

Aventurine ★★★★★ Path – Preservation Element – Imaginary Aventurine is a 5-star character from the Imaginary element, following the Path of Preservation. He is a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and is one of the Ten Stonehearts. His Cornerstone is called "Aventurine of stratagems." Despite his serious role, he carries an air of light-heartedness and isn't afraid to take risks. His constant smile often masks his true emotions, making it hard for others to understand him. He attained his current position by betting against fate itself. Aventurine sees life as a high-stakes game, and he navigates it with expert skill and confidence. |

Jingliu ★★★★★ Path – Destruction Element – Ice Jingliu is a 5-star character from the Ice element, following the Path of Destruction. She is one of the legendary heroes forming the High-Cloud Quintet and is honored with the title "Transcendent Flash." Having surpassed ordinary notions of triumph, she opted for a unique journey to gain the power to vanquish gods. As a result, one Sword Champion of the Luofu was expunged from Xianzhou’s records, and a new traitor was included in the annals. |
Honkai Star Rail 2.1 Light Cones
Along with the new characters, two new 5-star Light Cones will be featured in the Brilliant Fixation Banner.

Acheron's signature Light Cone, "Along the Passing Shore," and Aventurine's signature Light Cone, "Inherently Unjust Destiny," will be featured.

Similarly, Luocha's signature Light Cone, "Echoes of the Coffin," and Jingliu's signature Light Cone, "I Shall Be My Own Sword," will be rerun in the same version.
The first half of the 2.1 Light Cone banners will showcase "Along the Passing Shore" and "Echoes of the Coffin." The second half will feature "Inherently Unjust Destiny" and "I Shall Be My Own Sword."
As for the 4-star Light Cones, the first half will include "Good Night and Sleep Well," "Post-Op Conversation," and "Subscribe for More!" The second half will feature "Concert for Two," "Shared Feeling," and "Make the World Clamor."

Players will work as a drinksmith at the Dreamjolt Hostelry, assisting the manager, Siobhan, in mixing drinks for various customers. By adjusting flavors, adding decorations, and listening to customers' troubles, players can earn revenue-level upgrades and rewards, including the chance to unlock a 4-star character from a selection including Gallagher, Misha, Xueyi, Hanya, Guinaifen, Luka, Lynx, or Yukong.
Tides of War: Untainted Childhood Memories Passionate-Heart Burning-Soul Ultimate Collection
Commonly referred to as Tides of War, this battle-focused event allows players to accumulate Grit Value through battles, eventually reaching the ultimate Grit Phase. This phase offers powerful boosts during the "Might Unleashed" moment. Players must carefully choose their team to maximize the benefits and unleash strong attacks.

This event, celebrating the game's first anniversary, involves playing a board game inspired by past locations in the game. Players roll dice daily, experiencing various events and collecting Trailblaze Funds. These funds can be exchanged for rewards from Pom-Pom or used to purchase items like houses on the board. Mini-games such as the Windfall Slot Machine and Cookie Bakery are also available, along with opportunities for Interastral Peace Shopping and a personality test.
One-Year Anniversary Special Event

The One-Year Anniversary Special Event will offer bonuses including triple rewards from a special version of Realm of the Strange and Planar Fissure events. Players can earn 20 Star Rail Special Passes through the Festive Gifts event by logging in daily for seven days, and on April 26th, each player will receive 1,600 Stellar Jade via mail. Lastly, the First-Time Top-Up Bonuses on the Oneiric Pouch will be reset upon the release of version 2.1.
